I believe the Spartan and ALF are the donation piece's...Brian

They were. I am pretty sure that either the Spartan/Luverne or a Ferrara was donated to a department in Louisiana that lost everything during the hurricane. I think the ALF pumper has been designated a caisson.

When we (FDNY) went down to assist N.O.F.D. during Hurricane Katrina, we brought the Ferrara rig down with us that was donated by the citizens of Louisiana.   I believe that it was re-donated back to N.O.F.D.    Also heard that there were some people in New Orleans that were not too happy that we donated the rig back.  Only rumors I heard.

The ALF is on Govenors Island to provide fire protection out there. The original Ferrara Pumper was donated to New Orleans after Katrina. And the Spartan/Luvurn has been turned into the dedicated Funeral Caisson.

ALF is on Governor's Island.  That rig was a lemon from the day we got it, hence it going out to Governor's.   And yes, the Spartan/Luverne is now our dedicated Caisson rig for LODD funerals.

If you put the fire out, the right way, you don't have to jump out the windows. Lt. A. Fredericks. Squad 18 FDNY. (09/11/01)
