Fatal Hi Reach Collapse - Philadelphia

Squad 47 reported they had a crane collapse over 100 feet. One worker in a harness injured and 1 civilian injured, a three story taxpayer was also damaged in the collapse. One male pronounced dead at the hospital. L and I and City Officials requested to the scene.

Battalion 11 used all hands for heavy fire in a 2 story M/O/R occupied dwelling, the fire was brought under control. One civilian DOA was located inside the dwelling, Fire Marshal and Car 1 and 2 on scene.

Engine-25 arrived on scene heavy fire showing from a two story M/O/R, 15x35. Command reported fire extended to the exposure, box was struck and all hand were placed in service. One firefighter was transported to Jefferson Hospital with head trauma.

Companies dispatched for a possible dwelling fire, caller stated flames coming from the garage. PD on scene reporting a working dwelling fire. QT 44 went into service with an 1 3/4 hand line while E 44-1 established a water supply. L43 arrived and crews split to pull a second 2 1/2 line and do ventilation. All searched were negative, companies rescued one family pet. Units worked for approximately 3 hours with no reported injuries. Units on scene were Stations 44 and 43, Rescue 7 as the R.I.T, Engine 35, Squad 56, Rescue 45, Engine 33.

B/C-90 arrived on scene with heavy smoke showing from the third floor of a three story garden style apartment building with people trapped. Command placed all hands in service, numerous people were rescued. Fire was contained to a third floor apartment. Ten people were transported to area hospitals with smoke inhalation.

Garage Fire - Gloucester Twp

Task Force 822 was dispatched to the rear of 7 McKinley Ave for a reported building fire shortly after 06:00 hours. Initial information from Camden County Communications on response was that the police on location were reporting a three car detached garage with smoke showing. Engine 821 arrived on location and reported a 20x30 one story, detached garage with heavy smoke showing.
As the crew started making entry into the building the structure became heavily involved.
FM82 (K. Young) struck the “All Hands” and requested that Rescue 84 be added to the assignment. Engine 6911 dropped a supply line to the rear of engine 821 and reverse laid out to the hydrant at the end of the block.
The fire was placed under control by the 40 minute mark and is currently under investigation by the Camden County Fire Marshals Office.

Third Alarm Building Fire - Willingboro

Originally dispatched as an alarm system activation. Police were O/L reporting smoke across the parking lot and fire showing from a rear door, thus the assignment was upgraded to a building fire. Engine 1613 arrived and found a single story strip mall with fire showing from one of the shops. They went in service with a 2" handline as Ladder 1615 was right behind them and started setting up. Chief 1600 (Burnett) then placed the companies in service. Shortly after he reported fire through the roof as the second alarm was struck. Crews were making good progress on the roof and inside, as the third alarm was struck for manpower purposes to relieve some of the firefighters that were working. 1 FF injury was reported as the injury seems only minor. The FF was transported to a local hospital. No other injuries were reported. Local and State FM's are investigating the cause. Mutual aid was provided by crews from: Moorestown, Delran, Burlington City & Twp, Florence, Mount Laurel, Westampton, Beverly, Cinnaminson, and many other companies including Cherry Hill Rehab 13-8. Most of the units were clear of the scene by 12:00 PM. Several other occupants of the neighboring stores were temporarily displaced because of the fire.

Approximately 9:10 PM, Task Force 2520 & Engine 223 dispatched to 3 Lakewood Ave. for a reported dwelling fire. Central advising incoming units that the caller reported a heater fire. 25202 O/L reporting heavy fire from division "A"; all companies placed in service. Engine 2232 arrived and led off with a 1 3/4" handline on Division 1. Engine 2521 was right behind them and made a search on Division 2. Engine 2511 secured a water supply. Crews made a quick knock of the fire as it was placed U/C at 9:30 PM. Ladder 221, RIT 221, and more BLS units requested to the scene. Engine 371 covered Station 252 and Engine 171 & Tender 131 covered Station 251.

Approximately 2:45 AM, Stations 451, 452, 459, 421 & Atlantic County (16-1) were dispatched to the area of Route 542 & Bulltown Rd. for a reported building fire. Engine 4511 O/L reporting a small fire on the exterior of the building; all companies placed in service. At 2:59 AM, Chief 4510 advising Central that the building was vacant; partly boarded up. The bulk of the fire was knocked down quickly and placed U/C at 3:04 AM as crews began checking inside for extension.

MVA vs. Gas Pump W/Fire - Florence

Approximately 1:05 PM, Stations 401, 408, Ladder 303, Engine 322, & Engine 331 were dispatched to 2060 N. Route 130 across from the Wawa for a reported MVA with a vehicle into the gas pumps. Assistant 4002 was enroute and advised by Central that there were numerous calls reporting an MVA possibly a truck on fire as well as the gas pumps. C4002 reporting a column in the sky not O/L yet; however police are O/L reporting a fully involved car on top of the gas pumps. C4002 O/L confirming the reports. Police advising no one inside the vehicle. Engine 4012 arrived and led off with a 2 1/2" handline. Engine 3222 pulled a second line off E4012, as Engine 4013 secured a water supply on Route 130. The bulk of the fire was knocked down quickly as it was placed U/C at 1:18 PM. Crews the began overhaul and securing the pump itself. CP40 requested a hazmat unit to the scene. All units were clear of the scene around 3:30 PM.
