Task Force assignment was dispatched for the dwelling fire on the unit block of Wellington Avenue between Bryant and Coolidge in Stratford Station 64-1’s local 1st due area. Waterford Twp Fire Company Chief 2301 was on scene reporting a garage (shed) heavily involved with a propane tank involved and an exposure to the D side of the fire building. The fire did communicate from the shed to the living spaces of the original fire building. There was also damage to the B side of the exposure dwelling from radiant heat. While companies were responding an additional report from 2301 indicated that the propane tank had exploded (BLEVE) to further complicate the fire load. Companies from Stratford (64) Laurel Springs (60) and Somerdale (65) were assigned on the incident along with Stratford EMS. The all hands was declared at 1721 hrs and Rehab 13 was detailed to the fire. Rehab 1385 and Support 1386 responded 7 personnel and were able to set up about 1/2 block from the fire building. Hot food, hot beverages, and cold liquids were provided along with cooling towels and a rest area. Additional rehab personnel were held in station but were released at the 1 hour mark as the on scene rehab units had adequate supplies and staff to handle the incident. Rehab 13 units were released from the fire scene at 1910 hrs and were available to respond by 1930 hours after clean up and re-supply. Photos of the incident by Lts. E. Levin and J. Cundiff of Rehab 13.
