Details:

Companies arrived on scene with heavy fire showing from a two story S/F/D, with reports of people trapped. Command requested the second alarm struck. The first in engine to go in service with search and rescue, however they were driven back by heavy fire. All companies went in service with exterior attack. Two people were killed in the fire. Their bodies were found on the second floor.

dis. 17 was dispatched to the paulsboro plaza for fumes. 1703 arrived with a gas main leaking and had pd evacuate the plaza. e1721 arrived with 1702 and then 1711. sjgas was requested to the scene. sta 21-1 and dis 19 were also requested to the scene and staged at ritas water ice. dis17 and sta 21-1 and dis 19 were on the scene for approx. an hour and a half.

At 7:08 pm Stations 43-2 and 43-3 were dispatched for an alarm system for Villaries Tavern. While enroute the county 911 center recieved a second call reporting smoke coming from the building. 43-201 arrived and confirmed a working fire upgrading the assignment bringing Stations 43-1 and 43-4 into the job. Crews from 43-31 and 43-24 made an aggressive interior attack and held the fire to the attic. The fire was placed under control at 7:36. There were no injuries and the Fire was ruled accidental by CFM-1.

Deputy 38 arrived first on scene to find a fully involved 70' x 40' auto repair shop. Upon arrival Engines 76 and 49 immediately went into service with multiple handlines and Blitzfires. Fire crews encountered numerous hazards including propane, acetylene, oxygen and fuel oils, which created small explosions throughout the incident. Due to a lack of hydrants in the area, a tanker task force was added including several Lancaster County tankers.
