Dwelling Fire - Willingboro

Approximately 3:50 PM Task Force 16, Station 169, Engine 122, Engine 231 & RIT 311 were dispatched to 36 Pheasant Lane for a reported dwelling fire. Chief 1600 responded and was advised by Central that there were numerous calls reporting fire showing from the residence. Police O/L reporting the dwelling to be heavily involved. Chief 1600 arrived and confirmed the reports and placed all companies in service as numerous additional resources came to the scene. Medics units were also dispatched to the scene as reports came in that there were victims trapped. The homeowner did arrive and confirmed everyone to be out. Engine 1613 went in service with a 1 3/4" handline. The fire was placed U/C at 4:24 PM. Engine 272 & Ladder 701 covered Station 161.

CMD O/S Northbound CSX train heading into Gloucester City that had struck a male trespasser on the tracks. CMD reported male patient would be transported by ground to cooper with a amputation. BLS and ALS transported by ground to local trauma center for evaluation

Approximately 9:56 AM Task Force 3615, Station 369, Engine 312, Engine 391, RIT 231 were dispatched to 208 Upper Park Rd. for a reported dwelling fire. E3611 arrived O/L reporting an active chimney fire with a gas leak coming from the meter on the side of the dwelling. Deputy 3601 advising Central to place the companies in service. PS was notified. Engine 3611 operated a 2 1/2" handline to extinguish the fire. At 10:25 AM CP36 advised Central that the fire was knocked down and the utilities were secure as the fire was placed U/C at 10:26 AM. Engine 272 & Engine 501 covered Station 361. Engine 221 & Ladder 241 covered Station 363. Engine 101 covered Station 362.
MVC with Entrapment - Bellmawr

Engine 33, Rescue 32, BLS 3 (Bellmawr) and Squad 51(Gloucester City) were dispatched Rt 295 SB at 28.0 SB for a MVA “Rescue” Assignment. Units responding were advised callers reported a vehicle crushed between a Tractor Trailer and a box truck. Due to heavy traffic companies had an extended response time. Upon arrival Engine 33 reported one vehicle crushed between two trucks with one patient heavily trapped. Rescue 32 arrived and went into service with numerous rescue tools. Squad 51 assisted Rescue 32 with extrication while the crew from Engine 33 provided fire suppression. Patient was extricated just after the 50 minute mark of the assignment and was transported to Cooper Trauma by BLS 787 and Medic 43.

Approximately 12:27 AM Task Force 202, Engine 312 (Moorestown) and Station 809 were dispatched to 2010 New Albany Rd. (Better Home Building Products) for a reported building fire. Ladder 2025 O/L reporting an active fire on the roof. Engine 2012 arrived shortly after and went into service with a 1 3/4" handline to knock down the fire. FM20 advised Central to place the companies in service, bringing additional resources to the scene. At 12:39 AM, CP20 advised Central that crews extinguished the bulk of the fire as units were beginning the overhaul process. The fire was placed U/C at 12:51 AM. Squirt 313 and Ladder 801 covered Station 202.

Command arrived and reported a garden style apartment building with heavy fire showing. All Hands struck. Crews placed three 1 3/4" hand lines in operation. Interior crews reported fire on both floors with extension. One firefighter treated for respiratory on scene. Same apartment of the previous fire.

CMD O/S 2 story apartment complex with fire showing from division A. CMD requested the all hands box struck. Ladder 516 was first due and stretched a 1 3/4 handline into the apartment and made quick work of the fire. Companies remained on scene for the extensive overhaul, while the FM preformed the investigation.

Ladder 1344 reported heavy fire from a 2 story M/O/R occupied dwelling with reports of people trapped, placed all hands in service, 2 occupants were removed and turned over to CHFD EMS, both were taken to Cooper Trauma in Camden. The 2nd alarm was transmitted, the local and County Fire Marshal's are on scene, Cherry Hill Rehab 13-8 also on location.

Engine 1352 reported fire showing from the 1st floor of a 2 story occupied dwelling with all occupants accounted for,Battalion 13 placed all hands in service, the fire was brought under control quickly with no injuries reported.
Dwelling Fire - Gloucester Twp

At approximately 0630 hrs on Saturday morning Stations 83, 82 and 84 were dispatched to the 700 block of Graisbury Ave in the Blenheim section for a dwelling fire. 8401 arrived first and assumed command with heavy smoke throughout and fire from Division C. Quint 83 and Ladder 84 arrived simultaneously and commenced fire attack while E821 and E842 provided water supply and deployed a back up line. As the first floor fire was darkened, companies found collapsed floor conditions in the kitchen. The interior stairs were also located in this area and allowed for rapid fire extension to Floor 2. Companies darkened the fire with exterior lines and mopped up from the interior. Rescue 32 and Squad 75 responded on the all hands, as well as Rehab 1 and Rehab 2. Engine 81 was relocated from the cover to assist at the scene. The fire was placed under control at the 40 minute mark and is under investigation by the Camden County Fire Marshal’s office. Dwelling Fire - Mount Laurel

Approximately 5:00 PM, Task Force 3635, Station 368, Engine 311, & RIT 221 were dispatched to 211 St. David Dr. for a reported dwelling fire with victims trapped. Ambulance 3681 arrived O/L reporting an active fire inside with smoke showing. Chief 3603 placed all hands in service based on that report. Quint 3624 stretched a 1 3/4" handline to knock the bulk of the fire down quickly. C3603 confirmed that all of the victims were out upon arrival. Engine 3112 assisted in checking for extension and ventilation, as the fire was placed U/C around the 20 minute mark. Most of the companies were released within the hour. As for the cover assignments: E161 & E391 covered Station 361. E1311 & L2415 covered Station 361. E101 covered Station 362.
Auto Extrication - Gloucester Twp

Arriving on location, 8201 reported a single vehicle on its side with three occupants still trapped. ALS 46 responding from Station 82, had already started triage of the patients, and requested an additional ALS unit. BLS 805 assumed EMS Command and requested an additional three BLS units. Rescue 82 arrived on location as was assigned extrication. Engine 821 arrived shortly afterwards and was assigned fire suppression. Rescue 84 was added to the assignment due to the number of injuries and to assist with vehicle stabilization. EMS Command and the ALS Supervisor both requested a fly of SouthStar for one of the patients, however due to air security for Air Force 1 arriving at Philadelphia International Airport, the helicopter was cancelled. All patients were removed by the 30 minute progress report and transported by ground to the local Trauma Center. The scene was turned over to Gloucester Township Police for completion of the accident investigation.

Units dispatched to a reported dwelling fire at 123 Woodbury-Turnersville Road with possible entrapment, in Grenloch Station 10-1's local. Police O/L reporting a working fire, believed to be occupied by an elderly person. All hands working at 00:38 hours. 10-302 O/L reporting a 2 story SFD, with fire showing Division A. The bulk of the fire was knocked and placed U/C quickly as the primary search proved negative. All available personnel formed a manpower pool at Ladder 10-16 at 00:51 hours.

Approximately 4:53 AM, Task Force 201, Engine 801, and Station 809 were dispatched to 2304 Lenola Rd. for a reported building fire. Central advising incoming units that there was a fire in a detached garage. Engine 2013 arriving confirming the report, also stating smoke across the roadway. E2013 stretched a 3" line to the rear with a 1 3/4" handline in service. The fire was knocked down quickly with no injuries reported.
Van vs Building - Bellmawr

A van drove through the front of the Liquor Mart on E Browning Rd causing heavy damage to the building, no injuries reported. The driver of the van was arrested by Bellmawr Police, Bellmawr Fire Department Rescue 32 and Bellmawr Fire Department EMS Division also responded. Bellmawr police are investigating.

Companies arrived on scene with fire on the 7th floor of a Hi-Rise Apartment building. Car-3 requested the second alarm reported people trapped. Also reports of an armed subject barricaded in the apartment. Used All hands. Two victims were found DOA after a murder suicide.

Fatal Vehicle vs. Dwelling - Audubon

Audubon crews were dispatched for a vehicle into a dwelling. Command arrived and confirmed entrapment. Mt. Ephraim's Rescue added to the box. Pt. access was gained to find one victim D.O.A. Cherry Hill was special called to the scene to shore the dwelling due to severe structual damage. The vehicle crashed through the basement wall causing the 1st fl area to collapse.

PRESS RELEASE COMMERCIAL BUILDING FIRE 10/23/09 WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP 3900 BLACKHORSE PIKE, OLD MARTIN DODGE BUILDING At 0924 on Friday, October 23, 2009, Engine 1022 was responding to assist the WTPD at a car crash to de-energize the car battery. While passing by the old Martin Dodge building at 3900 Blackhorse Pike, Engine 1022 reported observing smoke and flame from inside Division A of the building and requested county communications to dispatch a full box assignment. Engine 1022 dropped a supply line at the hydrant on the Pike, pulled into the parking lot on Division A, forced entry, and went into service with a 2.5” hose line. At 0937 hours, a second alarm was struck to cover the township and bring all available resources to the scene. At 0940, crews reported the bulk of the fire knocked down however significant ventilation and overhaul would be necessary. Crews checked for extension with several thermal imaging cameras. Ladder 1026 positioned on the B Division went into service removing various roof vents. Ladder 1016 set up on Division D and assisted with ventilation. Engine 1012 was assigned the RIT company. At approximately 0945, communications notified command of a radio microphone being keyed up with a firefighter breathing heavy through an SCBA. Command ordered a partial PAR of all firefighters operating in Division 1 and Division 2. Personnel operating in the Roof Division and Division A were all within visual and accounted for. The RIT company was alerted and prepared to deploy, however within a minute, the 8 firefighters operating in Division 1 and 2 and were quickly accounted for with no problems. Cover Engine 29-1 was special called into the scene for additional manpower for about 30 minutes, then released back to cover duty. The fire was placed under control at 1004 hours. Considering that utilities to the building had all been secured prior to the fire, the WTFD FI unit, the WTPD Detective unit, the GCFM’s office, and the GCP’s office were all notified to investigate the fire. Units remained on location until 1116 hours and the investigation units remained through the afternoon. The fire is still under investigation. Chief John Hoffman WTFD
